Getting started

Quickstart

Open a trove, borrow PLMB and close it again in the Plumb app.

Before you start

You need three things:

  • A Solana wallet that supports Wallet Standard, such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack.
  • JitoSOL to deposit. Plumb accepts only JitoSOL as collateral.
  • About 0.01 SOL for transaction fees and account rent. Opening a trove creates your trove account and, if you don't have one, a PLMB token account.

Open a trove

  1. Open the app and choose Connect wallet in the top right. Pick your wallet from the list and approve the connection.
  2. Stay on Borrow. In Deposit, enter the JitoSOL you want to lock. Max fills in your whole balance.
  3. In Borrow, enter the PLMB you want. The minimum is 100 PLMB. You can also drag the liquidation marker on the price ruler instead: the app sets the amount so that your trove reaches 150% only if JitoSOL falls to that price.
  4. Choose a rate. Drag your vermilion line along the rate board, click a string, or use the arrows next to the rate. Redeemed before you shows how much debt sits at lower rates, ahead of yours.
  5. Choose Open trove. The app builds the transaction and simulates it against the chain first. If it would fail, the reason appears under the button and your wallet is never asked. Otherwise approve it in your wallet.
  6. The tape at the bottom of the screen follows the transaction from signing to confirmation. When it lands, your trove hangs on the board in vermilion.

Manage it

With a trove open, the Borrow desk shows it instead of the form. Pick an action:

  • Collateral: add JitoSOL, or withdraw what the 150% minimum doesn't need.
  • Debt: borrow more, or repay part or all of it.
  • Rate: move to another rate. Within seven days of opening or of your last change this costs 0.5% of your debt, and the desk shows the fee before you sign.
  • Close: repay everything and take all your JitoSOL back in one transaction.

Your debt grows every second. The app shows it ticking up so the number you see is the number the program will settle.

Close it

Choose Close, then Repay and close. You need PLMB in your wallet at least equal to your debt. Plumb repays the exact debt at the moment the transaction executes, including the last seconds of interest, so nothing is left behind.
